Quality Standards & Ratings
In addition to Underwriters Laboratories' wet location listing, all of Millerbernd's Food Area and Underpass fixtures are IP66 rated. The "IP" stands for ingress protection while the "66" means that a fixture is dust tight and protected against heavy seas and strong jets of water. The IP66 rating is comparable to the NEMA 4 and 4X. Our lighting representative had their architect contact us directly since they required a custom cut fixture with unique mounting requirements and that nothing existed in any of their product catalogs. From the architect’s fixture rendering and a subsequent phone interview, we were able to create a set of custom drawings with various solutions for mounting the fixture. The architect accepted one of mounting options and laser cut scroll suggestions. They then used our final drawings in their project specifications. The project was bid, our design and pricing accepted, and we received a purchase order in February 2009. Project Solution: Millerbernd Lighting leveraged their engineering experience and laser cutting center to deliver both a unique decorative fixture and provide a cost effective mounting solution. Project Result: Millerbernd’s proposal was accepted and incorporated by the customer into the overall project plans and specifications. Millerbernd Lighting’s custom solution exceeded the design and architectural requirements including delivering a cost-effective decorative sconce with unique visual appeal. |
